Recent research interests are related to:

1. Environmental Impact Assessment:- Studying the environmental impact of proposed project or development, taking into account inter-related socio-economic, cultural and human health impacts, both beneficial and adverse.
2. Marine biology: – Published several articles on marine benthic communities, taxonomy and diversity.       
3. Integrated Coastal Zone Management Plan – ICZM – Participating in many studies to promote sustainable management of coastal areas. The main idea is to enable the growth and development of coastal area while protecting and preserving coastal natural resources.

• Relocation of seagrass and coral reef: – Leading several seagrass and coral reef relocation projects in the coastal zone of the state of Qatar. Relocation is a recent common tool for ecosystem services enhancement and compensatory mitigation measure applied for habitat loss before starting mega projects in Qatar to protect the natural resources.
• Planting of mangrove: – Leading relocation  and planting mangrove tree project in the coastal area of Qatar. It was conducted as mitigation measure for mega projects in the state of Qatar.
