Dr. Emad Awadallah is currently the Department Head of Accounting and Information Systems. He is an Associate Professor of Accounting at Qatar University, and before that he worked in several UK universities such as the University of East London, University of Essex, University of Hertfordshire, Middlesex University, and Regent\u2019s University. He holds a PhD in Accounting and Finance from the University of Essex, and has a Bachelor and Master degrees from Cairo University – Egypt. Dr. Awadallah also holds the internationally recognized Professional Certificate Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and is also a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy. On the research level, Dr. Awadallah is interested in publishing papers in the fields of auditing and management accounting and their relationship to providing information of high degree of credibility and relevance in making decisions to improve the performance of institutions, which helps in sustainable development, especially during economic crises and the digital era. He has published many research papers in international journals and is a member of the editorial board of many international journals and has contributed to the organization of many international conferences. He is also a member of the Asia-Pacific Management Accounting Association (APMAA) and has been one of the key contributors to the organization of its international conference hosted by the University of Qatar in Doha in 2019. During his career at Qatar University, Dr. Awadallah participated in the development of many educational courses and programs and contributed as the chair of many committees, especially the committees for academic program reviews, accreditation, excellence in teaching and learning, the recruitment committee, and participated as a member of the Faculty Senate in its seventh cycle. All that was reflected in awarding him the best service award by the College of Business and Economics.
