Recent research interests are related to:
- Integrated Coastal Zone Management – ICZM development in relation to Integrated Water Resources Management – IWRM and Ecohydrological tools development for the observation, assessment, mitigation and adaptation of marine ecosystems to anthropogenic and climate change driven impacts.
- Environmental Sustainability: Innovation by integrating social, economic and environmental research to attain resource sustainability. Implementation of Consistency, Efficiency and Sufficiency approaches to resource use, reuse and recycling.
- Environmental Impact Assessment: identification of disturbance sources; impacts evaluation; mitigation measures and quantification of residual impact.
- Ecology and climate change driven impacts of early life stages of marine vertebrates and invertebrates (vital rates assessment for Individual Based Model IBM development)
- Impacts of ocean acidification on calcifying marine organisms, coastal biodiversity and fisheries.
- Marine biotechnology (renewable energy for green feedstock: micro-algae).
