Dr. Bilal Elsalem is a lecturer in accounting at the College of Business and Economics, Qatar University. He has also taught Accounting as an Adjunct Lecturer at Northumbria University – Qatar Finance and Business Academy, Community College of Qatar and Lusail University. In addition to his PhD in Accounting from the University of Sheffield, UK, he holds a Master’s degree in Accounting from Bangor University, UK. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Qatar University. He has extensive educational experience in accounting. His research interests focus on IFRS adoption, accounting quality, earnings management, corporate government, forensic accounting, whistleblowing and financial fraud. The teaching philosophy includes innovative pedagogical approaches such as animated videos, classroom flipping, games, and the World Café method to engage and inspire students.
