
Prof. Alaaldin Alkilany is Professor of Pharmaceutics and Nanotechnology at Qatar University, where he also serves as Research Coordinator for the College of Pharmacy. He earned his PhD from the University of Illinois, USA, and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Georgia.
With extensive experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, Prof. Alkilany has worked with leading organizations, including Eli Lilly (USA) and Hikma Pharmaceuticals (Jordan), contributing to the development of more than twenty products for regulated markets. Most recently, he developed Q-Silvano hydrogel, officially registered by the Ministry of Public Health in Qatar and manufactured by QLife Pharma—the first nanotechnology-based medical product from Qatar University to reach the market.
Prof. Alkilany is recognized internationally for his scholarly contributions, with over 75 publications cited more than 19,000 times. He is a recipient of the prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship (Germany) and has been consistently listed among Stanford’s Top 2% Scientists worldwide. His research centers on the design and application of nanomaterials for drug delivery and other biomedical innovations.
